Resourcing Lead - Hove - 6 months

Purpose:

Deliver a professional resourcing service, by managing key recruitment activities through the full hiring cycle - ie from raising and qualifying a role to onboarding. The Resourcing Lead will be responsible for championing and delivering the resourcing proposition ensuring that agreed standards are met/exceeded and that the resourcing activities add value to the business.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Recruitment - Route roles for approval, oversee the authorisation process, qualify the role requirements with a scoping meeting, agree selection method/process and manage expectations of the hiring manager around timescales for delivery. Complete all relevant documentation in support of these activities.

  • Source candidates through appropriate channels; contact all candidates by phone to qualify application, assess suitability for the role and rank application. Present shortlist with objective reasoning on selection to the hiring manager with appropriate supporting documentation. Confirm recruitment process to candidates, ensure interviews are set up and all parties are fully briefed and equipped with the correct selection tools. Prep and debrief each candidate by phone and confirm with email. Work with the hiring manager to confirm offer details and justify objectively the selection. Manage offer negotiating, contract formulation and on-boarding.

  • Target Orientation - Ensure that time to hire is line with objective. With 100% of candidates spoken to prior to shortlisting. Along with continually improving business knowledge and awareness to promote best practice, improve service and cost efficiency.

  • Subject Matter Expert - Specialising in Resourcing Processes. Agree the right recruitment process for individual projects/campaigns. Design and implement a variety of assessment tools to ensure that candidates are correctly and fairly assessed. Highlight risks to the hiring manager and how they can be mitigated. Communicating with the appropriate stakeholders (HR BPs, Resourcing BP's and wider team) to ensure the right decision is made and be the trusted advisor with market expertise. Drive collaboration across the business. Share ideas and be innovative and creative with recruitment strategies. Help set and shape the resourcing agenda and help prioritise the projects/needs.

  • Candidate and Hiring Manager Experience - Ensure that candidates, hiring managers and all relevant stakeholders are regularly briefed and updated at all stages of the recruitment process by active verbal communication and backed-up by email. Using the relevant escalation points when needed

  • Compliance - Recording recruitment process as a safety measure against conflict and to ensure we follow 'best practice' and the right decisions are made. Update ATS so that it consistently reflects the current status of all selection activity.

  • Value Proposition - Drive the service-delivery and commercial relationship with hiring managers, ensuring they are provided with relevant advice and guidance for recruitment activities and be the trusted advisor with recruitment expertise. Ensuring that milestones are set and adhered to. As Resourcing Lead pro-actively seek feedback and use to resolve issues. Manage workload, and arrange for assistance and support to avoid delivery issues. Actively seek and provide support to colleagues where you have spare capacity.

  • Service Proposition - Actively promote to the business. Identify areas of development need including within the wider context of the team ie identify challenges colleagues are facing and support in finding solutions. Actively seek ways of improving the service that the business receives, and not wait to be asked, but to come with a clear set of actions to improve or enhance the service the business gets from resourcing.

  • Treating Customers Fairly - Continually review the design and implementation of recruitment processed which ensures applicants, clients and suppliers are aware of our company values, including treating customers fairly, and that they can demonstrate the behaviours that support these values.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

*A TECHNICAL RECRUITMENT BACKGROUND IS DESIRABLE*

  • Demonstrable resourcing subject matter expertise in the actuarial and/or finance space highly desirable.
  • Ability to influence senior managers, manage expectations and ensure appropriate buy-in to the hiring process.
  • Strong communication and assessment skills to support the qualification of candidate capability and suitability.
  • A Resourcing SME that provides appropriate advice to hiring managers to ensure that they use agreed selection tools fairly and effectively.
  • An excellent brand ambassador with the ability to represent Legal and General's interests in appropriate forums.
  • An astute candidate sourcer with the expertise to identify effective sourcing channels to advertise positions, attract and build ongoing relationships with both active and passive candidate communities.
  • The ability to write and craft creative job advertising content and ensure the use of appropriate media.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all communication is correct and relevant for all stakeholders.
