Job Description:
This role sits in a team of experienced data and analytical professionals with responsibility for leading out on the exploitation of cutting edge data and technologies to deliver insight and value to the business. Our senior data analyst will drive a visionary agenda to develop a best in class capability.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Perform data exploration on disparate data (structured and unstructured) sources
- Communicate clearly with many different audiences both technical and non-technical, in traditional and non-traditional ways
- Improve data feeds and data quality to enhance the single customer view and drive efficiency in processes
- Use data tools to extract, model, interpret and display information outputs, supporting strategic decision making
- Work with business stakeholders to develop value propositions underpinned by sound analytics
Requirements for this role:
- experience leading data initiatives
- analytical and problem solving skills
- SQL
- knowledge across one or more of these analytical technologies - SQL, Qlikview, Tableau, SAS, SPSS, Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig, R, Java, Julia, Scala, Spark, Python or C++
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A motivated self-starter who can work with little supervision and in a collaborative team environment
- Proven academic record in one of the following disciplines: IT/Maths/Statistics/Analytics/Engineering/Physics/Psychology
- Passionate about data and using data to drive sound business decisions
- A proven track record in demonstrating a systematic, disciplined, analytical and customer focused approach to problem solving
- Experience with Datamodelling, data querying, data manipulation of large data sets
