Manufacturing Engineer
A Manufacturing Engineer is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Washington.
This is a six month contract for a leading UK defence client.
Overview of the Manufacturing Engineer contract role
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for providing Engineering Technical Support to Washington Production regarding process and in-service products. The role will include investigating, planning, undertaking and recording corrective actions through best practice Engineering CI tools in the relevant processes in line with business requirements.
Key skills required for the Manufacturing Engineer
- Degree or BTEC (HND/HNC) in Engineering or similar subject.
- Hands-on experience in the application of lean manufacturing tools and techniques (ie 6 Sigma trained).
- Experienced in the creation of; test matrices, test development plans, CI plans, reject reduction plans.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Strong background in engineering/manufacturing
- Knowledge of statistical techniques for measuring process capability and maintaining process control
The role is based in Washington - commutable from Sunderland, Newcastle and Durham.
