Enterprise Infrastructure Architect - Brussels, Belgium

Languages: ENGLISH and FRENCH

Skills and experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in ICT with at least 5 years of experience enterprise architect
  • Certified enterprise architect or equivalent
  • Technical understanding of IT products for every layer in the stack
  • Knowledge of most commercial and open source alternatives for the following layers:
  • Application frameworks and accelerators (custom vs. packaged)
  • Application Servers (eg Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, JBoss etc.)
  • Middleware and queuing solutions (eg Accenture WFI, Aware NISTPACK, Mule ESB, RabbitMQ etc.)
  • Database & storage technologies and platforms (eg Oracle, NoSQL etc.)
  • Virtualization technologies (eg HP Hypervisor, VMware vSphere, VMware ESX etc.)
  • Infrastructure (eg racks, blades, network etc.)
  • Technical understanding of the characteristics of application styles and when to apply each: 
  • Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms (eg HP Autonomy)
  • Batch-driven applications
  • Web applications
  • Rich client, thin server applications
  • Technical understanding of current and upcoming IT trends and how to apply them 
  • Technical understanding of technology areas specific to the company
  • Biometric matching and resolution platforms (Morpho, WCC, UISP)
  • Storage solutions (eg HP 3PAR, XP24k etc.)
  • Smart search solutions (ELISE WCC)
  • Technical understanding of different aspects of architecture: application, runtime, infrastructure, operations and development architecture
  • Understanding of how these need to be applied to meet challenging non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, availability) of a business critical system with a global user's base

                                Description of work:

                                • Develop enterprise architecture in line with defined customer strategy
                                • Define, assess and coordinate architecture projects and design architecture building blocks
                                • Design and coordinate architecture implementations
                                • Align and integrate multiple architectures, layers and perspectives
                                • Provide advice on architecture frameworks and methods
                                • Define and measures architecture indicators (maturity, implementation, etc.)
                                • Ensures interoperability; identify potential reuse; perform cost-benefit analyses; design Service Oriented Architecture
                                • Design and assess IAM and Master Data Management solutions
                                • Coordinate the technical implementation
                                • Perform business analysis and contributes to the functional, technical, security and testing specifications
