Description

For a project at our banking client site in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced

System Administrator Banking - SUN Solaris / Red Head Linux Systems (3757)

In this role, you will be in charge for installation, deployment and operation of UNIX / Linux infrastructure for several business units (IB, PB und AM) and technical Unix 2nd Level Support.

Your qualifications:
  • At least 5-8 years of work experience in system administration of SUN Solaris and Red Head Linux Systems in large environments (+500 Systems)
  • Practical experience in Incident-, Problem and Change Management, including root cause analysis
  • Experienced system administration of Veritas and RedHat Cluster Systems
  • Strong analytical and strategic abilities with solid implementation skills
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Naming Services (NIS), LDAP and ActiveDirectory, Systems Management Tools (e.g. BMC Patrol, ServiceNow), Virtualization (LDOM / VMWare), scripting (shell/perl) and ITIL V3 is an advantage
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written), German language skills are an advantage


Key Deliverables:
  • L2 Support (Incident-, Problem-, Change-Management) of high available RedHat Linux- / Sun Solaris-based systems and integration of software components
  • Operation of test-, integration and production-infrastructure for SUN Solaris and Red Head Linux (RHEL) based applications
  • Planning and execution of maintenance on UNIX / Linux systems, including deployment of new operating system releases and Layer 2 (Middleware) components
  • Support for integration of new systems and products, including support for projects through all environments from test to production
  • Installation, configuration and root cause analysis with storage management tools (VxVM, VxFS, LVM)
  • Quality assurance and acceptance tests for UNIX / Linux systems, standard builds and software components
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of sustainable solutions
  • In depth analysis of System configurations of infrastructure and writing of proposals for improvement
  • Execute disaster recovery (DR) tests in cooperation with application support teams
  • Create, revise and update technical documentation
  • Support project managers during implementation of new application solutions, including technical support
  • Quality management, continuous improvement
