Senior Data Scientist - Retail Marketing

Next Ventures, on behalf of a global retail client, require a Data Scientist with experience in Media Marketing optimisation. This is a 6 month project starting in June, with a start date as soon as possible. This project is based in Stockholm.

The successful Data Scientist will be working directly with the Media Marketing SME to optimize the way in which marketing campaigns reach customers. You will be responsible for developing a cost/business analysis (business case) around the value delivered within the current marketing and loyalty campaigns. This project will also include areas including analysing data sources, understanding customers groups and optimizing the allocating of marketing and offers.

The technology focus of this project will be around the Oracle marketing stack. Therefore, an individual with 3+ years' experience working with Oracle products would be ideal. Responsys and Bluekai are of particular interest.

Key requirements:

  • 3+ years of work experience in cost benefit analysis
  • A thorough understanding of business case methodologies
  • Ability to build sophisticated financial cost benefit analysis models (that are clear to understand to stakeholders)
  • Understanding of media and marketing optimisation and modelling
  • Attention to detail to ensure data is extracted consistently, accurately and clearly
  • Strong presentation and communication skill when delivering results to stakeholders
  • Business mindset and understanding of the specific needs within the organisation
  • 3 years exposure to Oracle technology (Bluekai and Responsys especially)

Day-to-day activities include:

  • Take ownership and responsibility of the Cost/Benefit Analysis, including the following activities:
  • Define cost/benefit assumptions accurately, clearly, and with rational logic
  • Identifying KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the Customer marketing Campaigns
  • Assess future costs (eg via benchmarking)
  • Calculate the ROI of current and future campaigns
  • Draw insights from market and competitive analyses
  • Gain buy-in for the project from the key decision makers in finance
  • Overcoming difficulties in the data procurement and analysis
  • Media and Marketing optimisation
  • Supporting the Marketing SME with the definition of the Media and Marketing optimisation approach
  • Implementation of strategic initiatives
