Data Scientist


Contract position until the end of 2016 with possible extensions thereafter.

Industry: Leading Pharmaceutical Company
Location: Switzerland. Limited travels, if the project requires.
Start date: July or if possible as soon as possible
Work permit: Switzerland (B-level for at least 2 years, preferably C-level)

Main Responsibilities

We are looking for a Data Scientist to support an important Pharma Research program relating to Digital Biomarkers.

The program’s focus areas are:
• Develop modern clinical endpoints (digital biomarkers): Define ways to capture clinical outcomes using sensor data collected from smartphones and wearables
• Deploy digital biomarkers to clinical studies: Using digital biomarker approaches to clinical studies so as to validate them and to inform clinical decision making
• Analyse and interpret sensor data: Identifying signals for disease severity and progression in sensor data collected from patients in trials, and correlations with classical clinical endpoints

The successful candidate will be analysing big sensor data collected from smartphones and other wearables in clinical trials to discover digital biomarkers required to assess drug efficacy.

Your Profile
Required experience and skills
Experience:
• Very good university degree in mathematics, natural science or informatics
• 3+ years’ experience with analyzing big data sets, data visualization
• Software development and big data infrastructures
• Experience with analysing biomechanical and sensor data desirable
• Project-based work experience in the pharmaceutical industry/consulting preferred


Skills:

• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Self-starting team player
• Fluent in English and one additional language (German is a plus)
• Profound knowledge in MS Office, Matlab, Python or similar software packages/languages
