Systems Design Engineer
Control and Monitoring Systems Engineer
An opportunity has arisen for a control and monitoring systems engineer to work on the development of new control and health monitoring systems for aerospace and marine projects.
Working within established teams this role will have the scope to work on the full life cycle of a System including Design, Development of novel Algorithms, Modelling and simulation, (eg using MATLAB and Simulink)development of application software and verification/validation of complex Embedded systems.
The role undertaken by the Control and Monitoring System Engineer consists of:
*Analysis and translation of customer requirements into a set of functional requirements for system or sub-system
*Produce functional specifications through textual and modelling and simulation
*Development of high quality software for rapid deployment into target hardware
*Agreement of hardware/software interface with hardware team
*Application of robust safety standards such as RTCA DO178
*Requirements capture, customer liaison and touching on all aspects of the entire system life cycle.
Key skills and knowledge we would like you to bring to the team:
*Systems engineering tools and techniques such as robust design and requirements analysis is essential.
*Knowledge in the use of simulation and modelling tools: MATLAB and Simulink.
*Interface for control and monitoring systems including common databus formats.
*Experience of Embedded code generation and integration to the target environment.
*Real Time Embedded software development, design, coding and validation in a safety critical environment.
This is a 6 month opportunity with a high chance of extension.
