For a six months project of our client, an international bank, we are looking for an experienced

ITIL Specialist - Platform Monitoring Baseline Definition (3822)

The ideal candidate will support the creation of new monitoring baselines through a combination of direct cutovers from legacy platforms. Hence, you will collaborate with various product management, engineering and operations teams to develop net new monitoring baselines for our environment. In addition, you will work with our operations staff to mature the baseline governance process and ensure strategic platforms and ITIL processes are leveraged to control changes.

Your qualifications:
  • At least 10 years' experience with Monitoring Technologies as well as baseline implementations, incl. previous exposure to BMC & Open Stack technologies
  • Experience in BMC Performance Manager/Patrol and Enterprise Operational Tools/Processes
  • Experience in building effective relationship with both product and outsourcing vendors and the ability to convey complex technical information and to articulate a business case to influence and drive strategy to them
  • Proven track record in influencing and driving technology change programs
  • Certification in ITIL and in-depth understanding of the ITIL framework
  • Knowledge in Unix/Linux, SQL, GIT and SVN as well as Python, Ruby, Perl, Go, Shell (Bash, CSH, KSH, BSH)
  • Broad understanding of IT Infrastructure as well as the support of it, preferably within a global financial enterprise


Your Responsibilities:
  • Become a SME on the existing baselines in place for the current monitoring platform
  • Talk to various stakeholders on the ownership of the baselines and mature current processes to support more agile updates
  • Be the accountable owner and subject matter expert of the new monitoring baselines for 'in scope' technologies including Windows, Unix, SQL, Sybase and Oracle
  • Learn and document best practices for the creation of baselines
  • Challenge project & engineering teams to deliver functionality which will enable our operations teams to better manage the environment and reduce unactionable alerts
  • Implement new monitoring baselines on the new IT Wide Monitoring Platform
  • Perform knowledge sharing sessions and trainings with existing support personnel enabling them to carry on with baseline creation & maintenance
