Proteus Europe is searching for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator for a 6 Month contract role based in Luxembourg.

Your New role:-
Main responsibilities:
o System administration of Oracle databases platforms.
o You are responsible to Perform Oracle database installation and configuration, tuning, capacity planning, health checks, backups/recovery and change management.
o Follow-up of incidents, problems, changes related to this platform. Troubleshoots issues with database instances and eliminates root causes through systematic problem management practices.
o First and second level support for Oracle.
o Follow closely the technological evolution in the field of the computing.
o Assist in maintaining and improving and innovation Oracle platform.
o Scrupulous follow-up of the rules and the respect for quality, KPI, security baselines and system policies.
o As expert of the domain, give strategic advices to the hierarchy, to colleagues, to project teams and customers
This include:
- Examine/study customer needs.
- Give advices during projects conceptual phases
- Give advices during implementation of new processes or the modifications of existing ones.
Your Skills and experience:-
Essential Skills:-
Requirements:
o Relevant university degree or equivalent in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred.
o Certified Oracle (10g/11g/12c) or equivalent on experience.
o Knowledge of RMAN, Oracle RAC and Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL developer
o Exadata administration and patching/maintenance knowledge.
o Other Rdbms (SQL Server, Sybase, DB2 ) knowledge considered an asset.
o Min 7 years in the Database domain especially as Oracle DBA.
o You are a strong communicator and good team player. You talk and write fluently French and English.
o You are familiar with ITIL and IT Service management (roles and processes)

o On call service .
o Demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to articulate technical solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
o Ability to plan, organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
o Demonstrate initiative, self-motivation, perseverance, patience and flexibility and being goal oriented with keen attention to detail.
o Capable of multi-tasking and working with a variety of people.
o A desire to exceed project, client and co-worker expectations
o Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
