Description
Our client in the Philadelphia area is looking for an IIS Administrator for a 6 month+ contract.
Primary Responsibilities
- Join our Application Design & Development team as software engineer to help develop exam content management software applications
- Serve as a subject matter expert on IIS system administration and provide support for web application development and deployment
- Responsible for web services, SSL certificates, web server security, and server configurations tailored to particular types of web applications
- Provide expert advice on web services architecture and build processes, specifically on IIS system
- Plan, document, and script PowerShell (v3 or higher)
- Perform troubleshooting and technical analyses for complex IIS issues
- Conduct performance tuning, recommend and implement improvement solutions
- Assist in setting standards and best practices for the configurations of IIS system and its new applications, as well as application release process
- Collaborate with Infrastructure team to ensure compliance with existing policies and optimal performance of IIS-related websites
- Participate in implementation of applications from start to finish. This would include providing assistance in requirement analysis, system design and detailed design, estimating task efforts, doing coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and documentation, etc.
- Mentor coworkers on IIS configuration, administration, and web services development and maintenance
- Conduct other server and web services related tasks as assigned
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in IIS administration, installation, and configuration
- Familiarity with Windows Server, load balancers, general networking and Firewall configuration
- Hands-on experience in designing and architecting web Servers with clustering and/or load balancing technologies
- Hands-on experience in web services development and deployment
- Hands-on experience in IIS log analysis and problem track tracing and troubleshooting
- Excellence at critical thinking and problem-solving
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Quick learner for complex business systems/rules
- Good performer in multitasking
- Good understanding of software processes, especially with Agile experience
Required Skills:
- 4+ years IIS administration experience
- Powershell Scripting
