Description

A global Renewable Energy client is looking for a Consultant to work as an Onshore Export Cable Construction Manager for its offshore wind farm project.

The Onshore Export Cable Construction Manager will be responsible for the onshore installation of export cable ducting and jointing Bay systems, crossing solutions and cable pulling. The duration of this role is for an initial 3 month period, to start 1st August 2016 up until the 31st October 2016 with the possibility of extending further thereafter. The hours of work will be 5 days per week, with a working day of approx. 10hrs, the individual must be flexible with working hours and some weekend working should be anticipated. This role will be based from various locations throughout the UK & Europe and attendance will be required for pre-start planning meetings at various location UK & Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • To participate in project team meetings and cross discipline co-operation
  • To ensure that the project is on time and within scope and budget
  • To comply with the clients guidelines and current standards, ISO9001 and MAKS requirements as well as good engineering practice and local requirements
  • Ensure that the best technical practices are implemented
  • Ensure hand-over of agreed documentation to O&M and OFTO
  • To comply with and enforce the clients HSE culture, ensuring compliance with all aspects of HSE legislation (HSWA and MHSWA) along with HSE advisor
  • Ensuring compliance with Local Authority rules and regulations (NRSWA, section 50 and R1 )
  • Ensure QA through all tasks in the project
  • Deputising for the Installation Manager in their absence
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of National Grid Safety Rules and procedures
Qualifications:
  • BSc Electrical Engineering. Civil Engineering or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of practical as well as theoretical experience within installation of high voltage export cables and accessories
  • Good project engineer skills
Additional knowledge:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HSG47 and GS6
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NRSWA
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PUWER, LOLER and PPE regs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HSWA and MHSWA
  • CDM Regs 2015
  • Accident reporting
  • HAZID and HAZOP procedures
Special Provisions:
  • The Consultants will be required to bring his/her own PC with MS Office 2007 software or newer and mobile telephone.
