ServiceNow Developer

We have had an excellent opportunity for a ServiceNow Developer with good understanding of JavaScript, Prince2 and ITIL to join a progressive, leading financial services organisation in Mid Kent. The successful candidate will be providing development support to the product owner of ServiceNow. Helping to define and deliver the roadmap for this global product, working to deliver enhancements, integrations and new products in line with agreed methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ServiceNow Administrators.

  • Work with the Infrastructure Application Support team to define, quantify and measure enhancement requests.

  • Deliver enhancement packages, version upgrades and fixes, as agreed by the product steering committee.

  • Raise tickets on the ServiceNow Hi-server, problem troubleshooting, advice and resolutions.

  • Liaise and cooperate with other development resources.

  • Attend Steering Committee meetings to provide advice on prioritising and scheduling enhancements.

  • Provide development estimates for enhancement requests.

  • Analysis of the feasibility of enhancement requests and proposed solutions.

Experience and Qualifications Required

The successful candidate is expected to have previous experience including:

  • An understanding of ITSM and ITIL framework, project methodologies (Prince2, Agile), ideally with relevant qualifications
  • ServiceNow customisation and development knowledge including JavaScript skills
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Techniques
  • Windows development skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the full project life cycle from requirements gathering, design, build, testing, implementation and warranty support
  • Familiar with working and managing Implementations across multiple locations
  • Experience of working with complex systems
  • System Administration of the Production, Test and Development ServiceNow instances

  • Alignment of the ServiceNow Platform with IT organisation strategy

  • Experience of defining Interface Files and Report Specifications
  • Development and configuration activities

  • Delivering to key timelines

  • Coordinating Implementation and Testing for Internal Monthly Releases

  • Translating business requirements into technical solutions

  • Scripting to create Client Scripts, UI Policies/Actions & Business Rules

  • Form design

  • Design and maintenance of Workflows and Reports

  • Configuration and customisation of 'out of the box' applications and modules

  • Development of custom applications and modules

  • Deployment of Weekly Releases and Emergency Changes via ServiceNow Update Sets

  • Can work effectively either as an individual or as part of a Team
  • Comfortable at communicating at technical and non-technical levels
  • Experience of leading small development teams
