Description

 My client in Bristol has an exciting opportunity for an Events Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the annual events plan. This will include large trade exhibitions, bespoke client engagement opportunities, and speaking with sponsorship opportunities. You will be responsible for identifying and shaping a range of events to meet our business objectives, assessing the value of events proposed by colleagues, and then delivering events and measuring their success.

Key responsibilities

Managing the portfolio of events from proposal to delivery
Delivering on events on time and within budget that meet - and hopefully exceed - expectations
Setting, communicating and maintaining time lines and priorities on event projects
Maintaining and building relationships with our membership organisations and relevant client contacts
Managing supplier relationships
Logistical management - pre event and on site where required
Working with the rest of the marketing team to develop supporting materials and associated communications for events
Lead/attend project update meetings
Post event measurement and evaluation (incl seeking feedback and capturing lessons learnt)
Research and recommend appropriate events in line with the business's priorities
Be the primary point of contact for our key corporate memberships - ensure we are capitalising on the opportunities our memberships present

Requirements

Able to effectively manage workload and prioritise
Thorough and organised, with good attention to detail
Excellent communicator
Able to work under their own initiative
Strategic thinker, who is comfortable influencing and advising senior members of the business
Strong interpersonal skills, able to build a network of contacts across the business and externally
A good team player; willing to roll their sleeves up and get things done and willing to be flexible and support the wider marketing team when required
Ideally membership of the CIM or other relevant industry body; project management qualification beneficial
