NX CAD Technician/CAD Design Engineer - Interior

My client is one of the world's most prestigious, luxurious and elite automotive manufacturers globally. They are currently seeking an experienced automotive CAD Technician/CAD Design Engineer with interior cockpit specialist knowledge for a long-term, on-going contract. The idea of the role is to support the Lead Engineer and PMST Leader in the creation and packaging of detailed CAD design and drawings of interior trim components. The CAD Design Engineer will be expected to have a background within automotive CAD design and modelling of interior trim components. As well as taking CAD designs from concept to finished model and produce finished drawings for engineering release.

Key Skills

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • 3D CAD skills - Unigraphics/NX would be an advantage.
  • CAD experience with automotive experience in component design; Knowledge of interior trim components, Carpets, plastic injection moulding, metal bracketry etc.
  • Knowledge of leather trimming and mechanism systems would also be an advantageous
  • A working knowledge of component manufacturing, tooling requirements and lead times
  • Knowledge of Automotive Programme Management processes and systems
  • CAD experience and user with a minimum of 5 years experience; ideally NX
  • To be self-motivating, proactive and the ability to work to and meet deadlines
