Title: Mechanical Engineer II - PA - PHHJP
Location: Bothell, WA
Rate: $27.83 - $32.83/hr on w2 without benefits
Duration: 5 Months (with the possibility of extension )
Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and 3-5 years professional experience Or Associate's Degree in Engineering and 7-10 years applicable experience
Description:
- Performs engineering duties; develops, designs, and tests mechanical devices. Writes technical reports, handbooks, and bulletins for use by staff or customers. Researches designs and makes recommendations based on appearance, safety, budget, and function.
Challenge Overview:
- Generate functional prototype based on theoretical principle and system requirements. Break module concept into sub-assemblies/components and translate system level requirements to part level requirements. Create solid model of prototype concept using rapid manufacturing methods. Construct and assemble demonstrator. Complete root cause analysis and troubleshoot component and demonstrator failures. Test demonstrator against system level requirements and document results.
Base Qualifications:
- Solid Modeling Experience (Component/Assembly) in ProEngineer (Strongly preferred)
- Prototype design for rapid manufacturing (3D printing) and traditional machining (CnC machining) experience.
- Root cause/failure analysis.
- Test method and fixture design experience including sensors/instrumentation.
- Hands on mechanical lab experience.
- Technical documentation within medical device regulated industry
- Desired Qualifications:
- Design of fluidic systems and/or firm background in fluid mechanics.
- Product design for mass manufacturing, in particular injection molded parts, sheet metal, and small parts assembly.
- Experience in consumer products or medical devices.
