Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Data Centre Design Engineer, to join our UC team. You will be working with a global telecommunications company, based in Bracknell with some travel to Madrid as required.
The successful candidate must have;
- CISCO CCIE DC or comparable
- CISCO CCNP DC or comparable
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Deliver high & low level platform designs for all UC network platforms according to the agreed plan, working effectively with other teams as required
- Own and deliver the projects required to maintain platform integrity
- Provide support to UC 3rd line team to solve complex problems
- Provide technical support to TES teams for on-boarding issues and problems, including updating/reviewing documentation as required
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- >5 years' experience in design and deployment of large networking and compute infrastructure with knowledge in:
- CISCO 7K, 2K, 1K, MDS, FI, Catalyst 3x50
- CISCO ASA, Juniper FW
- CISCO HCS
- CISCO DCNM
- BGP, OSPF, HSRP
- Cisco UCS B and C series
- CISCO UCS Central
- HP Blade Solutions
- VMWare VSphere/ESX/vCenter
- Microsoft HyperV
- EMC Storage solutions
- SAN MDS and Fabric Interconnect
- Significant experience in network & compute designs and solutions for cloud computing applications and platforms
- Significant experience in Router operating systems such as iOS.
- Significant experience in operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Ubuntu
- Effective at communicating technical information both in detail to fellow engineers and also to summarise at a high-level and put into business/financial context for less technical senior managers
- Ability to work to deadlines
