Description

WebSphere Engineer.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide in depth knowledge for installing, configuring and operating WebSphere App Server and Tomcat
  • Configuration of all security aspects of a web container or web server
  • Provide support for application integration into the web platform eco system
  • Create and maintain Shell Scripts and Ant scripts for automating platform setup and application deployment
  • Raise and track product defects with the vendor (IBM, RedHat)
  • Provide support for tracing and analysing defective applications ( in development and test)

  • Suggest changes for enhancement to the tools, workflow, process and reporting." "* Expert knowledge with WebSphere App Server, HIS
  • Good knowledge with Tomcat and Apache
  • Good knowledge of Shell-Scripting and tools (Shell, Ant, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Good knowledge of Unix (RHEL, Solaris x86/SPARC)
  • Good knowledge in SSL, certificate handling and PKI
  • Good interpersonal skills the role involves coordinating activities with resources and communicating clearly to SME's and Application developers.
  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure including virtualisations and Storage concepts.
  • Understanding of Java
  • Degree level education
  • Good English skills (spoken and written)
  • German skills considered a bonus"

Job Description:

A WebSphere Engineer is urgently required for a long contract in Lithuania with some travel to Poland. The successful WebSphere Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing tools to automate the setup and operation of Web Platforms on different operating systems with varying security configurations and provide consulting services for application developers and project leaders when planning/implementing migrations or first time service introductions. The Web Platform Engineer knows and understands the different user registries and security systems and how to integrate a web application with these systems. The Web Platform Engineer actively supports debugging and root cause investigations on the interface between the web platform (container, security integration, user registry) and the application.

Location: Lithuania with travel to Poland.

Contract: 6 to 12 months
