Description
Our direct client is in need of a VB.NET Developer at their Omaha, NE location for a contract position.
Responsibilities include;
- Evaluate user requests or design specifications for new or modified application functionality and estimate efforts required.
- Analyze, design, code, test, document, implement and maintain application changes.
- Provide technical support to system owners as well as other information technology groups to help ensure effectiveness of information technology systems in enabling client's customers to conduct day-to-day businesses.
- The support includes, but is not limited to, answering customer questions, interpreting system functionalities, completing data requests, making emergency fixes and performing other critical support functions.
- Collaborate with end users to analyze and develop business requirements for business application enhancements and problem resolutions.
- Provide guidance and direction to team members as necessary in the completion of assigned projects.

Required:
3+ years of demonstrated experience using Microsoft Visual Studio in the development of ASP.NET applications in VB.NET.
3+ years of demonstrated experience using Microsoft SQL Server or other relational databases for developing tables, stored procedures, functions and for writing Ad Hoc queries.
Plusses:
C# experience
Assignment specific skills ASP.NET Web Applications - VB.NET, ASPX Forms, ASCX User Controls, ASMX Web Services; SQL Server -T SQL, Stored Procedures, Views, Table Creation, Foreign Keys; ADO.NET - Datasets, DataViews; Crystal Reports - Sub Reports; JavaScript - JQuery, AJAX; Other - Entity Framework, LINQ, C#
Experience with JQuery, JavaScript, AJAX and reporting tools such as Crystal Reports or Business Objects would be a plus.
Experience in identifying/analysing/resolving SQL performance issues is a plus
