Working for the Home Office

To provide tactical analytical support to assist in cartel intelligence gathering and analysis and cartel investigations under the criminal and civil regimes. To review intelligence and/or investigation material and advise the case team leader on the most appropriate way to collate, analyse and present it for the purposes of the proposed criminal prosecution and/or civil proceedings. To analyse and associate intelligence and/or investigation material to identify key evidence, potential further lines of inquiry and primary witnesses.

Key tasks and deliverables

1. Establish a defined tactical approach using developed skills for identified complex cases developing an investigation avenues pack to inform case progression.

2. Using the investigations avenues pack to provide sufficient evidence to be provided to High Commissions to support removal of 30 cases by December 2016 and a further 60 by March 17

3. Increase the number of traced absconders to 260 (an uplift of 10%) in the lifetime of the project using newly acquired skills and technology.

4. Establish a business as usual protocol to ensure all sureties are interviewed following an FNO absconding identifying intelligence links to trends of

Essential Experience:
- Investigative skills experience
- Experience in open source/tracing techniques
- Interviewing experience
- Experienced investigators are required to support the key government objective of the removal of foreign national offenders from the UK. Experience in identifying and developing investigative strategies to support the HO in pinning down identity and nationality is required. As is a willingness to work with, and support the development of a small investigative capability within Immigration Enforcement. We are looking for strong communicators willing to spend time with staff to support their development, with a willingness to be flexible in their approach. Experience in technology is also key as is working with the HO to implement the most effective technological systems to support the work of the team.

Desirable experience:
- Experience in training and mentoring
- Experience in tracing absconders would also be desirable.
