Key tasks and deliverables
A Database Administrator is required to work on the Work Sevices Platform (WSP), a Microsoft Dynamics CRM muli-tier IT system, in my client and will be based in Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne This will extend to include the testing and production environments in the longer term. This role is needed to maintain the WSP MS SQL database supporting 20,000 agents in Jobcentres and Service centres across the UK. It is currently expected that WSP will be needed for the next two years until it is replaced by UC Digital (Full Service), in September 2018. The postholder will be expected to work across other MS SQL platforms within my client. Whilst the role will be primarily about supporting WSP's move of development, test and production environments, it is anticpated that the role holder will be assigned to other projects as support for the WSP database is unlikely to require a DBA 100% of the time beyond the initial work required to move the environments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Day to day incident management of admin issues; Daily housekeeping duties to ensure the general health of Servers and Applications; Support of current installations and implementation of immediate improvements to improve support/stability eg patching; Conduct reviews of supplied specifications; Document and store all work in accordance with agreed standards.
