Essential Skills for the Assignment:
- In-depth knowledge and practical competence in at least three of the following:
- Datamodelling at both application and enterprise level
- enterprise architecture principles, policies, standards and governance
- enterprise management of customer data
- business intelligence and/or data warehousing
- data standards definition or implementation - eg ISO20022, e-GIF
- metadata repository, Datamodelling or data dictionary tool implementation and administration
- data integration, transformation and standardisation
- Business data analysis for IT change
- Experience of developing enterprise data models and managing the alignment of transaction systems, digital services and business processes with enterprise data models and standards.
- Practical experience in data management process design and implementation, preferably in a digital environment.
- An excellent communicator with the ability to develop and manage relationships with a range of technical and business stakeholders from junior through to Director levels
- Proven ability to help people see new possibilities offered by data, and to appreciate the business value of adherence to an enterprise data architecture
- A professional self-starter who wants to be right at the forefront of maintaining and improving capabilities essential to funding public service. Moreover it is an opportunity to be at the cutting edge of Government's Big Data Ambition.
Desirable:
- Develop and maintain definitions of both as is and to be data architectures, and an implementation roadmap leading towards the to be state.
- Educated at Bachelor's or Master's degree level.in database design and/or information systems design
- Proven ability to support colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders in understanding, and using, data architecture to achieve strategic goals and improve business operations.
- Proven ability to help people see new possibilities offered by data, and to appreciate the business value of adherence to an enterprise data architecture

In addition to helping develop the Data Architecture, the vacancy provides an opportunity to influence: optimised Data Acquisition, Maintaining Data Quality, Operating a Data Mastering Capability, building a strategic Data Store and implementing new analytical practices to the organisation
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Chief Data Architect to develop, maintain, communicate and deliver enterprise data strategy, architecture and standards, working with senior colleagues to ensure fit with my clients business strategy.
- Provide advice and direction to IT and business change projects across my clients to ensure their alignment with the data strategy, architecture and standards.
- Play a major role in establishing and operating corporate data architecture and modelling governance to ensure IT and business change projects across the organisation are aligned with our data strategy and conform to our enterprise data architecture and standards.
- Contribute to managing stakeholders who are responsible for, and impacted by, the delivery of projects in-line with the data strategy, architecture and standards.
- Lead the development of policies, design patterns, standards and guidance, ensuring their consistency with the data architecture.
