UI/UX Engineer | Huddersfield

The Role

A growing organisation in Huddersfield are looking to appoint an interim UI/UX Engineer that has some hybrid experience of UI & UX concepts. You will be the first UI/UX Engineer, working closely with the CTO & a forming Scrum team with a responsibility to shape the User Experience of several web and mobile applications across a number of their successful brands.
This offers the successful candidate to join at the start of a major digital transformation programmes & help shape the direction of the whole customer journey that a user will take through our clients websites & mobile apps.

The ideal candidate will bring a track record of working with major brands and be able to provide a portfolio the evidences their achievements. What this should show is that the UI/UX Engineer has a strong understanding of the customer viewpoint & journey and invest in making things better, not just atheistically, but also the friction points throughout. The UI/UX Engineer will also work alongside the Head of Analytics to understand where the drop off points are in journeys on websites and apps.

The UI/UX Engineer will collaborate with existing in-house UI Designers who will own the visual design aspects, but the UI/UX Engineer will focus on improving customer journeys throughout the websites & mobile apps, coupled with some hands-on coding.

The Requirements

  • Be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of user experience and how to improve the customer journey in websites and mobile applications.
  • Good understanding of Front End frameworks - Angular.js or similar
  • Experience of developing sites with JavaScript, HTML5 & CSS3
  • A/B Testing experience
  • Analytics - Google Analytics, Omniture, etc
