Description:

  • This position will be responsible for ensuring timely Incoming Goods Inspection in support of Manufacturing. Performs all duties while maintaining compliance with FDA, ISO, and MDD regulations and Respironics Quality System.

Primary Responsibilities: Mechanical Inspection

The candidate must have experience in the following:

Determine appropriate surface plate/hand gage/inspection system including but not limited to the following:

  • Calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Pin/thickness/depth gages
  • Surface texture and color charts
  • Optical comparators
  • Smart scopes a plus
  • Use of microscopes and other visual aids accordingly
  • Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Read and interpret blueprints - understand industry standard nomenclature for GD&T

The candidate must also:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and follow inspection plans
  • Be an effective communicator
  • Work independently and in teams
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area
  • Review and keep accurate records
  • Any other work assigned within their area of expertise.

Secondary responsibilities: Visual inspection

  • The candidate must show proficiency to:
  • Perform visual inspection; provide consistent evaluation of general product quality while ensuring product meets minimum specifications

Optional responsibilities: Electronics inspection

  • The candidate may show proficiency to:
  • Perform Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA) inspections to IPC requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. ASQ certifications for Mechanical Inspector/Quality Technician and/or education related to inspection techniques, desirable.

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience as an inspector preferably in a medical, electrical, and/or aerospace environment.
  • Experienced with FDA, ISO, GMP, and MDD regulations and their application.
  • Computer experience and navigation of SAP software, desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position is mostly sedentary, but does require some standing and walking in order to perform the essential functions of the job and periodic lifting of items weighing less than 20 pounds. May be asked to occasionally lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
