Description

A Renewable Energy client is looking for an Electrical Project Manager.

The successful candidate will be required to start this role from 31st October 2016 up until approx. 31st October 2017 with the possibility of extending further thereafter. Hours of work will be 5 days per week, 8 hrs. per day in average. The Electrical Project Manager will be based in London but should be prepared to travel to the clients other offices in the UK and Europe including offshore (instructed travel).
Responsibilities: 

  • Project Management within Submarine cable installation and commissioning activities
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities, organise and lead the submarine cable installation project team and plan project activities, such as construction, commissioning and QA
  • Lead contract management of contractors work in the execution phase, particularly in relation to negotiation of claims and variations. Plan activities and drive progress
  • Discuss and align with various stakeholders, scope of work, timescales, quality, priorities
  • Coordinate interfaces internal and external to the windfarm program
  • Identify risks and manage appropriate responses
  • Manage budgets, controlling
Key Duties: 
  • Perform project management within the submarine cable supply and installation, transformers and HV/MV components, protection and control as well as all related engineering, installation and commissioning activities
  • Organise and lead electrical project team and plan project activities, such as construction, commissioning and QA
  • Manage external stakeholders, such as transmission owners and local authorities
  • Head contract management of contractors work in the execution phase, particularly in relation to negotion of claims and variations
Qualifications:
  • MSC in engineering or similar
  • Experienced project manager
  • PMP certification or similar training and certification preferred
  • Extensive relevant work experience within large construction projects is required
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation skills
  • Must have exceptional commercial understanding, particularly in the negotiation of claims for cost and extension of time
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Must have all valid GWO Certificates - covering Basic Safety Training Standard
Special Provisions:
The Consultant must bring his own mobile telephone. The client will provide access to their systems via computer access. Consultant must bring own PPE for working offshore. The client Energy will provide office facilities available to the Consultant including office space.
