A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Site HSE Engineer.
The Site HSE Engineer will be required to oversee construction activities at the construction site of the clients supplier for offshore structures located in Spain.
Our client is looking for a Site HSE Engineer who can start this role ASAP duration will be for approximately 2 years. Hours of work will be approx. 55-60 hours 5 days a week but not restricted to Monday to Friday. A shift pattern will be agreed with by the client's manager depending on construction activities.
Responsibilities:
- Act as adviser to the client's construction team
- Liaise with contractor's head of HSE in a day to day on site HSE matters
- Provide advice and mentoring on contractors Supervisors & Managers on HSE related matters
- Promote HSE culture change programme
- Monitor Contractor's daily HSE performance
- Review method statements, risk assessments, permits & point of work risk assessment on a daily basis
- Practice and promote visual leadership and good communication with contractor workforce
- Ensure on site compliance with Contractor's HSE Management system
- Deliver the clients HSE audit schedule
- Maintain the clients Hazard Observation Card reporting system
- Support delivery of HSE workshop/initiatives agreed with Contractors
- Take part in contractors HSE Committee
- Close out of Hazard Observation Cards & observation from safety tours/inspections/audits
- Monthly HSE audit (app 8-10 times/year)
- Weekly safety inspection
- Daily safety tours with a bias on behavioural safety
Qualifications:
- Technical academic or technical background
- Must be able to demonstrate solid experience, knowledge and competences within management of HSE, ideally from about 10 years. of experience within offshore industry, with a minimum 5 years. of experience from heavy steel
- Fabrication/construction activities
- Experience from managing multi- disciplinary and multi-national teams and possession of good person competences
- An advantage to have experience in construction design management, from offshore wind projects or from engineering
- Must be IT literate (MS Office Suite)
- Must a good communicator at all levels
- Write & speak Spanish/English fluently
