Management Accountant/London

E levate Direct is the next generation of recruitment technology for the global contract and freelance workforce. Summary

This is an attractive opportunity to join a fast-growing and dynamic technology business providing innovative staff resourcing solutions to Government and the private sector. The company, based in London SE1, is rapidly scaling its operations and has recently secured Pre-IPO institutional funding to underpin its ongoing expansion in the UK, Europe and its newly established US operations.

The role is for an experienced Management Accountant, either part-qualified or qualified ACA or ACCA or qualified by significant experience, reporting to the group's CFO.

The role will encompass the preparation of core financial information used by management to operate, monitor and report on the business. Whilst volumes are at present relatively low, the business is expected to grow quickly and significantly and demands will increase over time and an increasing workload should be anticipated.

The Management Accountant will ensure that all business income and expenses are properly recognised and accrued and balance sheet (incl bank) accounts are all regularly reconciled on a timely basis. In addition to management of the GL and day-to-day accounting, there will be regular financial reports to prepare and circulate.

The position is Full time and based in the company's new premises in London, but with the option to work from home as and when appropriate.

The company will provide [25] days holiday plus all bank holidays and related benefits (to include pension, life insurance and share of bonus pool).

Salary starting at GBP35,000 to 45,000 pa, depending on current remuneration, responsibilities and experience.

Start date: Immediately, subject to probationary period of 3 months. Satisfactory references to be supplied.

Duties

Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statement) on Xero and related financial information and analysis (incl KPIs and trend and variance analysis, actual vs projected results) for monthly reporting to the board, to agreed deadlines, working together with the CFO

Preparation of any supplementary ad hoc financial reports that may be required to support the management accounts and/or for reporting to investors

Working with the CFO to establish and documenting the company's policies and procedures, incl internal compliance procedures

Monthly payroll processing for the UK operation, bi-weekly payroll processing (liaising with the group's outsourced payroll provider) for the US operation

Monthly VAT and PAYE returns

Daily banking, incl AR and AP analysis and management of related receipts and payments (incl ageing monitoring and provisioning)

Assistance with the preparation of the company's annual financial statements, including the provision of financial analysis for the annual statutory audit and liaison with the company's London-based auditors

Processing and recording of employee expenses, incl for the US employees, and management of the UK-US intercompany account

Management of the book-keeping function- initially data input will be required using the company's Xero accounting system

Opening and management of company bank accounts as required (incl monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts)

Development and management of a company workplace pension scheme (in due course)

Management of all company insurances and banking/credit facilities

Assistance to the CFO on any business acquisition and integration and any further fund-raising initiatives

General assistance to the CFO on all finance-related matters and (in due course) expansion of the group's finance function

Skills and experience required

Solid accounting and reporting experience within a corporate(s) and/or professional practice

Good accounting skills - adept at bookkeeping, knowledge and understanding of payroll and PAYE, VAT accounting, sales and purchase ledger functions

Strong and in-depth working knowledge of Xero accounting software and reporting (incl consolidated accounting and reporting)

ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualification or part-qualification (financial degree advantageous)

Conscientious, with excellent attention to detail

Self-motivated with a proactive approach and willing to grow with the business and its demands and pressures

Strong Excel skills, good communication (written and verbal) skills

Very able to multi-task and meet deadlines, with a strong and professional work ethic, reliable and with a proactive mindset
