Marketing Analyst/Data Analyst - MS Office suite, Access, Excel, SQL, SSMS
Our client is looking for a Marketing Data Analyst to join their South East London based team. This is a contract role that has a 3 month duration.
Job Purpose:
This is a hands-on business-focused analytical role, supporting direct marketing processes.
To provide data and analysis support for direct marketing activity
To support the ongoing marketing systems integration project
Main responsibilities of the Role:
Manage data from multiple sources to deliver campaign data lists
Work with the marketing team to measure and improve campaign targeting effectiveness
Work with sales and marketing managers to identify, scope and structure potential analysis projects to deliver commercial benefits
Deliver descriptive and predictive analyses of customer, product, transaction and usage data to support sales and marketing functions (plus other stakeholders within the business)
Work with the Marketing Data team and the Business Systems teams to ensure that analysis outputs are available to drive sales and marketing activity
Review external data sources to assess likely business value
Contribute to the development of marketing data systems and analysis tools, including requirements specification and testing
Contribute to cross-functional projects that require (or impact upon) marketing analysis, as directed by the Marketing Analytics Manager

Essential Skills and Experience:
Highly numerate
Enquiring, investigative mindset
Consultative, collaborative approach
Strong understanding of relational database structures
Understanding of data handling principles
Ability to explain complex techniques and results to non-specialists
Broad understanding of the Data Protection Act and related legislation and regulation -
DESIRABLE
Statistical and mathematical modelling and analysis - DESIRABLE
Education/Qualifications:
Good degree with high mathematical content (maths, stats, econometrics etc)
General Experience:
Data manipulation and analysis of data sets drawn from multiple sources
Desirable Experience:
B2B experience
Publishing and/or legal sector
Previous exposure to direct marketing operations (highly desirable)
Experience and understanding of:
targeting models
segmentation modelling
marketing campaign analysis
Technical Skills and Applications:
MS Office suite (esp. Access & Excel)
MS SQL Server (SSMS)
Campaign management applications (eg Apteco FastStats, Eloqua)
Statistical modelling software (eg R, SAS)
