Description
Responsibilities:
- Build new features, APIs for companies main product, maintain existing code, fix bugs if necessary and improve the application used by thousands of users a day.
- Actively review other developers' code, engage collaboration and improve code quality.
- Create and maintain documentation.
- Mentor new hires.
Required skill sets:
- A strong sense of Software Craftsmanship
- Are able to write modular, well-tested, and maintainable code
- Read, write and think Scala
- 2 years commercial experience in Scala
- Experience working with Akka and Spary frameworks/libraries
- REST API design and usage, JSON
- Interest in the ongoing developments of Back End frameworks in the market
- Experience working on AWS/Cloud/Containerized environments
- Knowledge of unit and e2e tests
- Git and working with the GitHub process of pull requests and code reviews.
Good to have skill sets:
- Knowledge and understanding of Front End application development using HTML5 and CSS (and/or SCSS), accessibility, etc
- A background in Java or other strongly typed languages
- Knowledge of technologies we use on our platform: Docker, Jenkins, AWS, PostgreSQL, Kibana
- Comfortable in working with.Nix-style terminals, Bash, Shell Scripting, SSH
