Description

As a Senior Coder you will be responsible for working with the rest of the development department to take our games from concept to completion. You'll work on a wide variety of areas of each game, and will be actively collaborating with team members of other disciplines. You will have the opportunity to work in a flexible environment, and to add your own ideas into the mix in order to create the most enjoyable and entertaining game possible.

As a candidate for the Senior Coder role you are expected to have proven experience within a senior/lead role, with broad experience working across a wide variety of game systems. Importantly you must also be self-motivating, a strong team player who is proactive and with a personal desire to deliver at the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking core gameplay features from a design through development all the way through bugfixing and polish
  • Ensuring the pieces you build that create amazing gameplay experiences are clean, efficient, and polished
  • Building game systems architecture
  • Memory and framerate profiling and optimisation
  • Mentoring and/or managing other members of the programming team

Requirements:

  • Excellent technical implementation skills
  • Good knowledge of modern game engines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of coding processes, standards and methodologies
  • Creative, innovative, and conscientious in solving complex technical problems
  • Focused but adaptable; flexible and open to change
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced team environment
  • A passion for playing and making games

Experience:

  • At least 5 years' experience in games development
  • At least 2 shipped games including one in a senior or lead role
  • Experience with gameplay programming
  • Experience with prototyping and rapid iteration of features
  • C# programming experience
  • Experience building prototypes and/or full games in Unity or Unreal
  • Experience with networking, multiplayer, and/or database systems
