C++ Software Engineer - Belfast Contract 6 months.
My client a global leader in their respected market is in urgent need of a talented and experienced C++ Software Engineer to join their group on a contract basis of 6-7 months.
This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work within the Equities group and work closely with a Front Office business unit and established technology teams to develop our strategically important platform.The Equities business has set an ambitious growth plan, and strong technical development is critical to achieving our goals and enhancing their leading position in the financial market. The successful candidate will play a key role in that success. This is a fast paced, challenging team of highly experienced technologists and you will be expected to have very strong prior Front Office experience. This is a senior C/C++ development role and from the outset you will be given full responsibility of building and maintaining their high performance market connectivity for their entire equity trading teams. This position involves: Requirements analysis and capture, working closely with the business users and other technology teams to define solutions. Development of the Market Access applications and components, as part of a global development effort Liaison with support and development teams Third line support of the platform during trading hours.
Successful candidates will have Strong C/C++ knowledge and solid experience of working with Windows C++. You will also have Strong SQL skills. Candidates will have experience of VisualStudio 2008 and 2013 or older and C++ unit testing framework (CPPunit). It would be advantageous but not essential if you had experience with STL, Boost, Experience in Multi-threaded environments/systems, TCP/IP, Exchange Connectivity/Market Access and Strong understanding of EMEA Exchange Electronic trading.
