An exciting, long-term opportunity is available at the European Commission's Informatics Department (DG DIGIT) in Brussels for an Interface Designer. Directorate-General for Informatics was created to deliver digital services to enable EU policies and to support the Commission's internal administration.
Working under our contract with DG DIGIT you will join our team helping to improve Europe's competitiveness, boost its growth, create jobs, and tackle the main current and future societal challenges.
Tasks will include:
- Analysis of the user interface requirements
- Review of usability requirements
- User interface design specifications
- Design of user interfaces
- Visual prototypes
- Evaluation of user interfaces
- Elaborate navigation mapping design
- Production of technical documentation
- Participation in meetings within the Commission.
We are searching for a candidate with the following profile:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant studies and experience after the secondary school
- Minimum 4 years of IT relevant professional experience
- Good knowledge of user interface ergonomics
- Knowledge of design and graphical tools
- Knowledge of web technologies and standards
- In depth knowledge of Drupal, PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments
- Technical support experience
- Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on a large project
- Ability to participate in multilingual meetings, ease of communication in French and/or English
- Ability to write documentation in English
The successful candidate should be able to start ASAP. This position is offered as a long term freelance contract.
