Description
Position: Oracle DBA (Goldengate)
Location: Alpharetta, GA (In person interview required)
Duration: 6 months
The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, system wide tuning, disaster recovery, and backup of Oracle databases
Qualifications:
Comprehensive knowledge of database administration (design, installation & troubleshooting) of Oracle 11g and 12c databases on a Unix or Linux platform
High degree of experience with use of Oracle GoldenGate in Active/Active configurations and for performing migrations of large databases between platforms
Expert knowledge of Oracle RAC and Data Guard
Experience in using Oracle Enterprise Manager Diagnostics and Tuning packs to isolate and troubleshoot issues
Experience creating, upgrading, and patching Oracle 11g and 12c environments on both Windows and Linux
Experience with Shell Scripting (Perl and/or Korn Shell)
Understanding of basic SQL commands necessary to perform administrative functions
Experience with Oracle Utilities (Data Pump Exports/Imports, and SQL Loader)
Thorough knowledge of and experience with partitioning strategies and management
Required Competencies:
Ability to work independently and with other database administrators, application administrators, product developers, and product management as required
Experience with support of high volume, low latency, 24x7 production database environments with strict availability requirements and revenue at risk
Ability to plan work to meet project deadlines, accommodate demands by users, set priorities and escalate issues appropriately
Superior communication skills (verbal, written and presentation), customer service-oriented
Strong problem solving skill set, and the ability to understand new technologies quickly are essential
Experience monitoring database management systems as well as evaluating database performance to maximize efficiency
Experience working in an environment that follows strict change management and standardization processes
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
Qualified candidate will possess a B.A./B.S. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent work experience; minimum 5 years work experience as an Oracle DBA
