Responsibilities
We're looking for an enthusiastic senior level engineer with a strong focus on cloud technologies to work on our world leading flight management system - a system that provides state-of-the-art aircraft weight and balance calculations to approximately 125 airlines each year.
The role is based at our London Heathrow development center.
You will join the team that will migrate the system to our in-house cloud platform which is built on the top of Red Hat OpenStack. You will also provide and enhance the development environment, tooling, build and release pipelines, to over 50 feature team developers.
Requirements
You will have:
- A degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, or other significant industry experience
- Strong C++ development experience.
- Strong cloud development experience, with knowledge of OpenStack (ideally Red Hat), Dockers, Kubernetes, and ideally OpenShift.
- Strong Python/Linux Scripting skills
- Strong Oracle database experience
- SCM knowledge, preferably Mercurial or Git/Bitbucket
- Knowledge of distributed systems/service oriented architectures
- Good knowledge of build pipelines.
- An understanding of what it takes to design, build and operate a large scale, complex system that has to operate flawlessly 24x7, 365 days per year.
