Modis are currently recruiting for an Electro-Mechanical Engineer, who has the ability to gain SC level security clearance, for an exciting organisation based in Dorset working on Nuclear projects.
Role: Electro-Mechanical Engineer
Location: Dorset
Rate: up to £32 per hour
Duration: 6 months initially
Start Date: ASAP
Clearance: Must have the ability to gain SC level
The client is an established leader in the design, manufacture, supply, support, lifetime extension and decommissioning of I&C systems for the worldwide nuclear industry. Their specialist areas relate to safety systems and include Reactor protection and control, Neutron flux detection, specialist cables and nucleonics and radiation detection instrumentation.
The Role
The Electro-Mechanical Engineer is responsible to ensure that all products designed, developed and manufactured for the company meet the required specification laid down by the company and agreed by the client.
They will be accountable for:
- Assist in the design of bespoke electro-mechanical systems for both the US and European nuclear industry
- Assist in the design of new products and the continuous improvement of existing products
- Review engineering and design documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer specification.
- Produce assembly drawings, BOMs and supporting manufacturing drawings to enable the procurement, manufacture, assembly.
Skills Required
- Conversant with both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.
- Ability to produce and critically review electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Experience in designing Electro-mechanical control systems.
- Experience in working with peers to produce 3D CAD models of parts and assemblies, preferably using Autodesk Inventor
- Experience in creating 2D drawings, in accordance with BS8888, preferably using Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD.
- Ability to support technical proposals and provide accurate cost and timescale estimates to support bid, project and production activities.
