KDB+/Q Developer - AI/ML - London

An AI/ML lead systematic trading team at a multi-billion dollar hedge fund is currently looking for a KDB+/Q expert to setup infrastructure that will store and manipulate tick data as efficiently as possible. This individual will be sat with researchers and data scientists in the team on a daily basis.

With the return of volatility to markets, this hedge fund is looking to build an automated trading desk that combines the latest AI and ML techniques to generate Alpha for its clients.

To be considered as a potential member of this team, our client asks for the following:

  • 3+ years of high-frequency data manipulation and storage
  • Previous experience working with cloud based infrastructure as well as Linux platforms and Servers
  • Expert in at least one OO programming language (preferably, a strongly typed one)
  • Experience writing production level Python code (side projects/hobby/professional)
  • Strong academics in a technical discipline (CompSci/EE/Maths/Physics)

On top of these core requirements, the personal attributes that our client will be looking for are as follows:

  • Versatile programming and problem-solving skills
  • A passion for modern technologies (OpenSource contributor/play around with cutting edge tech)
  • Quality driven technologist passionate about stability and code quality
  • Strong communication skills
