iOS Developer, Lead Mobile Engineer, FTSE100
iOS Developer Job purpose:
Weare looking for an iOS developer to work on iPhone Apps. The developer will work on the entire app lifecycle right from concept stage until delivery and post launch support. In addition to delivering the product the successful candidate will be heavily involved in driving the mobile strategy globally.
iOS Developer main tasks and responsibilities:
- Acting as iOS developer. Depending on the skills set this task may be lead on one project and a supporting role on another project.
- Working closely with other mobile app developers.
- Deliver across the entire app life cycle -concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support
- Working directly with developers and product managers to conceptualize, build, test and realize products
- Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions
- Build prototypes at tech scoping stage of projects
- Create compelling device specific user interfaces and experiences
- Optimizing performance for the apps
iOS Developer specification:
- Proven commercial software development experience. Extensive mobile experience.
- Published examples of mobile applications on the App store.
- Excellent knowledge in information architecture, human computer interaction and usability design principles
- A track record of delivering successful consumer and or business products
- A passion for new consumer technology and the emerging media landscape
- Ability to multi task and good time management skills
- Excellent testing/QA skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to liaise with various departments locally and internationally
iOS Developer Essential skills:
- iOS - extensive commercial experience
- Strong OO design and programming skills in Objective-C
- Extensive experience with iOS SDK (UIKit, Cocoa Touch, Core Data, Core Location, etc)
- Intimate awareness of Core Locations services
- Knowledge Core Bluetooth accessories
- Excellent knowledge on background processing on mobile OS environments and battery conservation.
- Experience with SQLite
- Knowledge of Swift
- Experience on web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)
- Good understanding of OO programming and design patterns
- Using version control (eg GIT)
- Excellent debugging and optimisation skills
iOS Developer Advantageous skills:
- Experience with React JavaScript library
- An understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax
- Experience using social media APIs
