The Role
The role encompasses the full development life cycle: requirements, design, develop, document, test and deploy
You will be:
- building shared components and infrastructure to radically restructure and simplify our ETL processes
- piloting new concepts and methodologies
- maturing abstract and open ended business and technical requirements into deliverables
- supporting and mentoring teams of developers in adoption of shared components and new methodologies
You will interact with technology and business groups on a daily basis
Key skills
- Proficient in one of Scala, Java or Python
- Proficient in one of Hive, Impala, Oozie or Sqoop
- Proficient in Apache Spark
- Continuous integration/continuous deployment experience with Git/Jenkins/Maven etc.
- Effective communication and problem solving skills
- Experience in banking/finance sector or experience in commercial data centric projects
- Experience of Machine Learning desirable but not essential
- Experience of functional programming desirable but not essential
- A degree or equivalent experience
