Data Architect (Azure, SQL, SC Cleared) 6 months, Remote Working, Market Rate Outside IR35
Please note that this role requires SC Clearance so applicants must be eligible to undergo the clearance process, if SC or DV is not already held.

Our client is looking for a Data Architect with hands-on Data Engineering experience who specialises in Azure PaaS/IaaS technologies and the Microsoft Stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).

Working alongside an Enterprise Architect and other data teams, you will take a hands-on approach to solutions definition and development (including coding as/if needed).

Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage positively with a range of stakeholders with respect to the Data Platform vision, roadmap, tactical priorities and progress on agreed deliverables.

The Data Architect will have the following key skills and experience:

Extensive experience within senior engineering and technology roles working with data engineering teams, delivering and building data solutions while remaining hands-on.

Experience of Azure PaaS/IaaS technologies (eg: Synapse (Data Warehouse), Data Factory (Data Flows), SQL Database, Databricks, Data Lake Storage)Experience of Microsoft Stack technologies (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)

Experience and Knowledge of standard data warehousing (Data Marts, Star and Snowflake Schema)

The ability to design and build new data models and new extract-transform-load (ETL) processes.

Strong examples of coaching, facilitating and guiding others - directing, leading and mentoring others to do the right thing. Developing data engineering and reporting teams.

An expert in data engineering for data warehouse solutions with hands on experience coding in SQL, ETL, Reporting.

Good knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and processes including CI, CD, TDD and automation.

A depth and breadth understanding of the data engineering space - with the ability to stay current and up to date on trends and technologies.

A wide experience and understanding of architecture in terms of solution, data and integration.

Experience working with teams using DevOps and continuous delivery.

Experience and understanding of wider Microsoft Azure capabilities in general.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Although this role can be carried out remotely, once restrictions on office working are fully lifted, there may be a requirement to travel to offices (London or Birmingham - flexible) for essential meetings etc., potentially 1 day per week.
