Accessibility Specialist - WCAG 2.1
Web Development, CSS3, HTML5, Javascript, AngularJS
Based in Buckinghamshire (working from home until further notice) a Consultant is required on a contract basis.
Please note for this role candidates will need to work through an umbrella company for this role.
Responsibilities:
- As an accessibility specialist, you will be supporting the Digital Product teams in evaluating the accessibility of services, and working with teams to help create accessible services.
- Working on apps (mobile) Front End applications - implementation.
- Refactor HTML pages within a project and document the changes.
- Expectation is to work collaboratively with product teams and document observations/findings, change made within the app, demo before and after effect of what has been achieved
- Present fortnightly in clean code sessions to product teams.
- Creating content for an accessibility toolkit, to share around the organisation.
Skills and experience required:
- Specifically semantic HTML Front End developer
- Web design and development experience (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Angular).
- Experienced and good understanding of accessibility requirements and coding for all accessibility standards within WCAG 2.1.
- Semantic HTML Front End developer.
- Knowledge of ARIA targeting/labelling for screen readers.
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical technical teams
- FS background ideally banking but not essential
