Application Architect

Contract 6 months, scope for extension

Location: Dublin City Centre

Day Rate - Circa. 650 eur

The successful applicant for this position should have 5+ years as an application architect. The architect will be responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of the application architecture model including the dataflow between these.

The architect will also need to interpret, use and applying information to support a range of strategic activities, particularly those involved in the transition and transformation of applications across the group.

The Role:

  • Create and own application architecture documents based on evolving application landscape and business requirements.
  • Formulate and drive the tactical and strategic direction of the application architecture to ensure it meets enterprise goals and contributes value to the overall enterprise.
  • Supporting project teams on the application landscape, design and integrations with the group technology stack.
  • Work on projects to provide documented application solutions based on existing and new applications.
  • Work with project stakeholders and provide status updates, risks and escalate to have them resolved.
  • Identify risks, issues and assumptions with the application landscape.
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to implement and transition to future state architecture.
  • Be a problem solver capable of translating business needs into technology solutions.
  • Carry out research on applications and business process to ensure that the application supports business processes.
  • Ensure that the design being applied meets policies, principles, and standards.
  • Working closely with the technical design authority to ensure the infrastructure design meets the application landscape requirements.
  • Support other departments across the group with applications landscape and data queries.
  • Identify non-standard applications and address with the associated parties.
  • Be able to articulate well, work well both as part of a team and as an individual. Experience working on large projects with multiple applications, interfaces and stakeholders.
  • Experience working on transition and transformation projects beneficial.
  • Experience working on GDPR projects beneficial.
  • Experience in the Funds Industry beneficial.

Skills:

  • Proficient in one or more modelling standards such as UML, Archimate, BPMN.
  • Familiar with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachmann, or other
  • Experience with Modelling tools such as Archi, Visio, or other
  • An appreciation of industry regulation such as GPDR.
  • 3rd Level IT Qualification, Background in the financial Industry preferable
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team leadership skills
  • Good understanding in application development, MCSD preferable
  • Work well under pressure
