Job Title: Solutions Architect
Role: Contract
Based: London or York, whichever is your preference (2 - 3 days in the office a week)
Reporting to: Chief Digital Officer
Salary: c£85,000 + Benefits
Summary:
The Solutions Architect is responsible for defining and implementing design and architecture.
You will be key part in ensuring that the foundations for all development are fit for purpose. You will be working with the Digital, IT teams and third party technology suppliers to understand system requirements and ensure that systems are built successfully and compliment each other where required.
This opportunity will require you to be a strong business facing architect with the technical skills that cover; applications, infrastructure, data and security; an understanding of architectural trends such as microservices, cloud-computing and open source frameworks.
The Role:
- You will take responsibility for the integration architecture for your projects; ensuring all solutions are interoperable, scalable and flexible.
- Working closely with the other Architects to define the principles, standards, and practices to ensure best practice is followed by all projects and suppliers.
- Help visualise and create the technical landscape
- Help to enforce a governance mechanism to enable control on all outputs
- Provide Quality Assurance and testing support
- Show good stakeholder management, budgeting, estimating, and influencing team members.
- Establish correct tooling and processes to support the Architecture function.
- Provide direction, governance and quality assurance to build a market leading mobile app.

Skills Required:
- Skills and understanding of AWS and Machine Learning
- Understanding across Application, Infrastructure, Data, Security and Service Orientated Architecture within the Digital Domain
- An ability to thrive in digital transformation and innovation environments
- A will to demonstrate that you can work well with project teams and with 3rd parties
- Quality assurance of deliverables to ensure fit for purpose and fit for use
