C++ Developer - FX Trading (C#) Investment Bank

  • 7+ years of C++ experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented principles and their practical applications
  • Strong understanding of C++ features and their trade-offs
  • Good understanding of data structures, software and hardware architectures
  • Use of unit-testing strategies
  • Source code version control
  • Educated to degree-level at minimum in a numerate or technical discipline

Desirable skills/Systems

  • Modern C++ (at least 11 or later)
  • C#/.NET 4 framework development
  • CI/CD pipeline setup in JetBrains TeamCity or Jenkins
  • Strong interest in understanding the business concepts and needs
  • Knowledge of FX options or another asset class/business area
  • Prior experience with risk coordination systems
  • Source code refactoring
  • Understanding of development tools such as MSBuild and NuGet
  • Proficiency with Git workflows eg feature branches, PRs, Gitflow, bisect, interactive rebasing
  • Python development
  • Working knowledge of Excel

Typical domain activities:

  • Develop new enhancements as requested by the business (this could be from Front, Middle or Back Office).
  • Enhancements can be in the form of new financial products, new booking methods, improving functionality, reacting to audit points, regulatory requirements etc.
  • Maintenance - bug fixing, intra-day technical support and overnight 3rd line support.

The role is for a strong C++ Developer. The candidate must have strong development, communication and analytical skills. The deliverables will include developing new functionality for business users to aid viewing and understanding their risk, refactoring and improving the releasability of the existing system and ensuring smooth integration of the analytics libraries with the grid architecture.

Global FX Options business team is concerned with the development, support and release of intraday, end of day risk running of distributed grid architecture. The team is also responsible for the delivery of regulatory projects. The systems are used globally with major hubs in London, New York and Singapore.
