We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a prestigious Global Consultancy who require a Solution Architect for one of their Public Sector Clients based with Remote.

  • IR35 - This role is Inside IR35
  • This role is required Active SC clearance.

Job Description:

  • The Architect is a client facing member of the solutions team and is responsible for helping shape client requirements, and identifying innovative and competitive solutions to meet their business need, alignment of client business requirements with relevant Client portfolio offerings, and where there are gaps or opportunities, to create new innovative solutions.
  • Analyses customer business needs for own areas of expertise and uses industry best practice to develop most optimal solution for clients.
  • Leads development of systems architectures for complex systems or an entire corporate suite of systems.
  • Takes full responsibility end to end for overall system design.
  • You will work closely with counterparts in Client Industries and Practices to define and deliver solutions at scale in areas of Agile, AI, robotics, RPA, Application Support & Maintenance, Integration, Cloud Services, Digital Transformation, SAP, Testing, Big Data and Digital Workplace.
  • Assures specification and design work.
  • Takes responsibility for the strategy and methods used in implementing a systems architecture in a significant organisation.
  • Provides technical leadership to assist in growing the Client business and underpinning effective support and delivery of solutions.
  • Develops new techniques for use in systems architecture. Promotes the architecture discipline within the wider Clients family.
  • Takes an active role in the development of other staff and is a role model for technical and engineering staff.

Key Skills required:

  • Senior Systems or Solutions Architect with at least 3 years of relevant experience as a Technical Architect and over 10 years' experience as an IT professional.
  • Experience in a relevant systems or software architect position is essential to the role. As well as having a breadth of technical knowledge, candidates must also be able to demonstrate experience of shaping solutions from a commercial and service and security perspective.
  • TOGAF or BCS ISEB Architecture Certified.
  • Experience and understanding of Software development processes and methodologies.
  • Experience translating business and feature requirements into technical specifications.
  • Experience communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience building effective relationships with a wide range of technical peers.
  • Ability to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts explore and evaluate them systematically.
  • Experience across the full life cycle of delivery from sales through projects and service delivery.
  • The ideal candidate shows leadership and extensive functional and technical expertise in planning, designing and implementing complex application solutions and has, as such, an in-depth knowledge of various Microsoft .net and/or open source based and/or cloud native products and technologies. He or she is knowledgeable about the concepts of Application Lifecycle Management and is able to efficiently and effectively apply them in practice.
  • A Masters or Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Management, or similar level of education.
  • Experience of working with Large Government Department/Agency or Large company environment.
  • Expertise in at least one of software, systems or data architecture specialty, Generalist experience with a balance across multiple service or technology areas.
  • Business fluent in English, verbal and written is a must.
  • Excellent consulting and presentation skills.
  • Track record in supporting digital transformation for clients.
  • Support the solution team, or sales team in developing winning propositions, including:
    Writing proposal elements as required.
    Development of costings and models to identify opportunity to meet client business cases.
    Development and delivery of presentations to clients and internal teams.
  • Motivated and outcome driven.
  • Attention for detail, ability to be hands on when required.
  • Good understanding of finances/commercial elements of solutions.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong experience and skills in hybrid-cloud architecture and familiarity with the major cloud vendors in the marketplace.
  • Familiar in both local and offshore delivery.
  • Involves and leverages knowledge of others in decision making and problem solving.
  • Makes decisions by evaluating options and uses commercial and market awareness to make appropriate recommendation.
  • Lead technical risk management and mitigation of large projects.
  • Experience in Agile DevOps and full stack application modernisation. Exposure and experience in some or all of the following technologies and tooling would be beneficial in delivering your role:
    Jira, MS Project, Trello or similar.
    Collaboration software (Jamboard, Miro or similar).
    Scala with SBT.
    Play! Framework (Scala bindings).
    HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
    Continuous integration (Jenkins).
    Version control (Git & GitHub).
    NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
    Oracle Databases.
    Browser-based testing (Selenium).
    Security testing (eg, OWASP ZAP).
    Performance testing (eg, Gatling).
    Accessibility testing (eg, Axe, Wave, NVDA,ZoomText, Voiceover).
    Google Analytics/Google Tag Manager.
    Mobile application technology, both iOS and Apple platforms.
