Global, independent commodity trading company covering oil, gas and power markets has an exciting opportunity for a Trading Systems Analyst/Developer to join their team of over 20 staff within a highly profitable growing trading company with opportunity to develop in the role.

The successful applicant will work in a team to provide reporting and support to an ETRM system for a commodity trading company. The role requires a person to be able to bring skills that are otherwise segregated in larger organisations. The candidate needs to demonstrate that they are flexible and keen to learn new technologies. The position will require the candidate to work with trading teams, operations, risk managers, accountants and senior management.

The Role:

The initial role will comprise of work to maintain business reporting using tools such as Business Objects and Tableau, writing and maintaining SQL views as required by business units, maintenance of the data including running daily, monthly and annual processes and testing upgrades to the ETRM system.

In addition, the successful candidate will be heavily involved in the migration of business reporting from the existing system to a new in house ETRM system which is under development having the opportunity to work with the developers directly.

The Candidate:

*Previous knowledge of working in Energy Trading would be highly beneficial but not essential.
*Knowledge of risk management terminology, futures contracts and swap pricing and exchange clearing beneficial.
*Strong ability in SQL required.
*Experience with Business Intelligence systems such as Business Objects, Tableau, Power BI.
*Depending on the abilities of the candidate the opportunity to be more involved in software development will exist.
*Willing to work early mornings and evenings on a rota basis.
*The candidate should be outgoing, communicative, well organised, innovative, proactive and full of initiative.
