Working with a leading Security and DevOps focused consultancy to secure the services of a full stack Python Developer for their global energy and trading client based in London.

Job Description

Working within a DevOps & SRE function the Full Stack Python Developer role will be focusing on developing a number of reusable services, integrations, components and Front End interfaces within an evolving community focused developer enabling platform. The developer platform is targeted on allowing the client to scale the DevSecOps within their organisation over multiple platforms and emerging technologies.

You will be a highly capable technical resource working within an agile development and engineering function and able to demonstrate highest development standards & best practices. Working within small agile squads the resources will form part of a larger team of engineers and developers.

Responsibility

The candidate will:

  • Design and implement performant applications
  • Write reusable, testable, and efficient code
  • Development and Integration of user-facing elements
  • Implementation of security and data protection best practices
  • Include integration of data layer solutions
  • Technically support engineering and deployment of a portfolio of technologies.
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies & deliver the associated assets.
  • Be part of a customer centric development process

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in developing full-stack code using Python and industry standard Python frameworks including Django and Flask.
  • Solid grasp of multi-threading in Python and developing API's
  • Good understanding of Front End technologies, such as Angular, React JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Usage of DevOps processes including the integration of security & quality tooling within CICD pipelines
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
  • Good understanding of service-side coding practices
  • Familiar with cloud environments AWS/Azure.
  • Understanding of accessibility and security compliance
  • Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, Servers, and environments
  • Familiarity with event-driven programming in Python
  • Understanding of the differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
  • Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Strong unit test and debugging skills
  • Able to produce clear documentation to support the development activities
  • Experience in working within modern application development and engineering teams using DevOps & Agile methodologies.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
  • Experience of producing technical documentation and reports.
  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Solid communication skills and expertise to translate technical jargon into business familiar language.
  • Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand complex problems and how these relate to the customer's business.
  • Able to quickly understand and interpret customer problems and navigate complex organisations
  • Ability to stop to listen and collaborate with technical and non-technical consumers from IT administrators to executive level stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and self-educating, yet willing and able to work collaboratively with both customers and fellow RiverSafe consultants
  • Well organized with a healthy sense of urgency, able to set; communicate; and meet aggressive deadlines with competing priorities
  • Demonstrable understanding of common enterprise applications especially in the area of security.
