Description

Our client a global solutions provider are seeking to recruit a Senior Software Developer for a 12-18 month contract paying £80000-£110000 depending upon experience.

You will be based in Cambridge on site 2 days a week and 3 days from home remote.

We are seeking an excellent research software engineer who will help us build robust software for testing solutions and practical small-scale deployment on-site. You will work in our small 4-person research team Cambridge, UK and engage with research teams in other countries to create solutions that support our vision.

We are researching innovative spatial collaboration concepts to address the fundamental shift to remote and hybrid work. Alongside early-career researchers and experienced researchers, you will have the opportunity to develop and test near-term and disruptive applied research solutions for effective and inclusive workflows. This work will be done with the intention of practical deployment on-site for validation and daily business use.

Skillset

  • Required: Experience at multiple layers of the tech stack (native, web, service, UX, model, data).
  • Required: Experience with Front End JavaScript frameworks (eg, React).
  • Required: Experience enabling Real Time communication in networked systems, eg, Azure Communication Services (preferred), webRTC etc.

Preferred:

  • Preferred: Experience with computer vision algorithms, eg, for people detection, scene changes etc.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting interactive applications (web-based or native) beyond an engineering prototype being used by dozens of users.
  • Preferred: Experience with a web-based game engine or deep knowledge of frameworks like three.js

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's
  • Required: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience working as a full-stack developer.
  • Preferred: 1+ years' experience working in or closely with a team of researchers, either as a postgraduate yourself or as part of an academic or corporate research team.
  • Preferred: Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
