Job Title: Income AccountantEmployer: NHS Trust
Location: Home Counties
Rate: £ Per Day
Contract: 3 Months initially
Real Staffing are assisting an NHS Trust based in the Home Counties who require an NHS Accountant to provide support to their Income & Contracts team.
The trust are looking for an NHS Accountant with a background within Income Finance or Financial Management who can help to cover an understaffed area of the department. Whilst the trust are flexible on the accountant's background, it is important that they have prior experience of working within an NHS hospital.
The Income Accountant will be expected to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
> Reporting on the Trust's income performance against the agreed SLAs with PCTs Monthly Contract Monitoring Reports for all the Trust's Commissioners
> Patient level SLAM implementation
> NCAs reconciliation - to identify and understand the differences between amounts that have been invoiced compared to what has been internally reported via the Informatics Dept (will require use of Excel, Access & Oracle)
> Deal with all NCA queries from out of area CCGs
> Manage the transition for the new NCA invoicing process from the current 'separate invoicing file' basis to using patient level SLAM
Agreement of NHS balances work
Essential Skills:
> Extensive knowledge and previous use of the Civica SLAM system
> Previous use and experience of the Oracle ledger system
> Self-starter, and able to work extensively under own initiative, and to be pro-active
> Thorough knowledge and understanding of PbR, and specifically including experience of dealing with NCAs
> Advanced Excel skills, including use of pivot tables
> Advanced Access skills, including being able to set up own databases
> Excellent analytical skills
> Part-time, 3 days per week (option to move to 5 days per week if successful and both parties agree)

Rate is negotiable and will be determined based on the quality and experience of the successful applicant.
