Description and Responsibilities
An experienced Front-End/Web Developer is needed on a contract to possible hire basis. This professional must be able to collaborate with other members to build quality sites, products, and custom experiences across a broad range of devices. Candidates must have a solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS. In addition, candidates must have good experience with the WordPress platform and have a competency in PHP development.
Qualifications
- Intimate knowledge in writing HTML5 and CSS3, with the ability to hand-code preferred.
- WordPress development – theme editing and development; plugin editing; custom function development; code debugging and optimizing
- Familiar with WP theme frameworks
- PHP development, including integration with external services
- A solid understanding of JavaScript and a familiarity with jQuery. The main need here is to be able to produce efficient, elegant and refined interactions and behaviors.
- The ability to propose and create effective micro-interactions is very important.
- Ability to produce valid markup and a clear understanding of web standards.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot browser issues.
- Experience with building responsive sites.
- Ability to take a mock-up or concept and turn it into a working prototype.
- Enthusiastic about helping build the best experience for the user.
- Participate and contribute in problem solving discussions.
- Assist in developing methodologies, standards and best practices for the team.

- At least 3-5 years of experience in web development
- Should have an available list of URLs or samples of past work or general work portfolio. The primary concern for reviewing past work is not so much the design, but to look at the code the candidate has produced.
