Want to work with nonprofits, progressive organizations and make a difference in the world?
We are a small design studio with a team of three remote designers that works with medium to large nonprofits and are looking for another long-term freelance web designer to help with ongoing projects. Ideally, this person would be able to put in a consistent 15-20 hours/week (or more) during US business hours (no moonlighters). You can be East Coast, West Coast or anywhere in between. Other tasks might be layouts for interior pages, web production, web banners, infographics, email newsletters and some print projects.
Other requirements:
- An interest in nonprofits, progressive organizations and design for good causes. Must be open to working on left-leaning projects
- At least a few years of freelancing (sorry, no recent grads)
- An understanding of web design best practices
- Works with grid layouts and understands how to design for responsive layouts
- Understands web typography (@font-face, Google fonts, etc)
- Understands XHTML/CSS3/jQuery capabilities (from a design standpoint)
- Is organized and knows how to prepare files for handoff to a developer
- Understands and enjoys wireframing/prototyping (we use Balsamiq Mockups)
- We use Adobe CS, Teamwork, Dropbox, Skype and are a Mac based studio
- Must be able to consistently meet tight deadlines
- Bonus points if you have a portfolio that shows work that is similar to these projects as these are similar in scope to the type of work we do
If you're still reading this and the position interests you, please send a brief email introduction telling us about yourself (professionally and personally), your hourly rate and a link to your portfolio.
Only designers based in US time zones will be considered. Serious inquires only. Depending on the number of applications we receive, we may only respond to candidates who are selected for interviews, but we thank all candidates for their interest in this position.
